This week Olio’s CEO Ben Forrest connected with Fred Pennic, the founder and editor-in-chief of HIT Consultant, to share the company’s plans for its $2.5 million in seed funding. HIT Consultant is an online source for healthcare technology-related news and insights for healthcare executives, physicians, and providers, with content primarily focusing on health IT, EHRs, population health management, digital health, telehealth, patient engagement, and startups.
Pennic’s article delves into Olio Health’s journey as a company, initially starting as a consulting firm in 2017 aimed at improving communication alignment between acute and post-acute providers. Later Olio evolved into a platform that provides direct and real-time communication between providers to increase collaboration, increase insight into the patient’s condition in the post-acute environment, improve patient outcomes, and reduce costs.
Olio Health has great plans for its $2.5 million in seed funding. The company will use this funding to further scale its technology, expand on a national level, add to their team, and innovate with clients. With this funding, Olio will be able to reach a larger number of health systems, physicians, and post-acute providers who will have the opportunity to implement a technology-enabled solution to improve care across the continuum.
