Modern Healthcare Names Two Olio Clients Top 25 Innovators: Press Release

Chicago, Illinois – Olio is proud to announce that our clients Dr. Lori Sieboldt and Dr. Anthony Sorkin have been recognized by Modern Healthcare as two of this year’s Top 25 Innovators. Sieboldt is the Medical Director of Population Health at Deaconess Care Integration NGACO, while Sorkin is the Executive Medical Director of Population Health at IU Health.

The complete ranking is featured in the August 24 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and profiles of the winners can be found on Modern Healthcare's website.

This year’s Top 25 Innovators championed scalable solutions that are being used to reshape the industry in big and small ways. While many of this year’s honorees pushed solutions that directly address the coronavirus pandemic, their innovations and approaches to problem solving will be useful long after the crisis is over.

Sieboldt was recognized for reducing gaps in care for vulnerable populations, and she worked with SNF organizations closely to reduce readmissions and length of stay. Deaconess’ Next Generation ACO has achieved savings of $17 million and $541 per Medicare beneficiary.

Sorkin was recognized for safety and quality. He standardized care across 16 hospitals and 300+ post-acute providers. IU Health has used real-time data and rapid-process improvement programs to standardize care across home health, nursing homes and long-term care during the pandemic. They saw a 12% decrease in length of stay and 26% lower readmissions.

“Both Dr. Sieboldt and Dr. Sorkin are truly deserving of this award,” says Sean Mullins, Chief Operating Officer at Olio. “Both of our clients have taken innovative approaches and adopted new technology to support vulnerable populations.”

Because of their efforts, Dr. Sieboldt, Dr. Sorkin and their population health teams are improving patient care, succeeding at managing their post-acute utilization and spend, and streamlining communication with post-acute partners.

"While healthcare always looks for ways to transform, 2020 required more nimble, innovative adaptations than ever before. As communities hunkered down, providers and other industry members quickly found new ways to care for their patients, and they couldn't be afraid to try something new. This year's Top 25 Innovators exemplify the best of those transformations,' said Aurora Aguilar, editor of Modern Healthcare.
